3 December 2000 | Graphics Cards
Payback is getting really close to being finished now. As usual, I spent a lot of this month making new levels, but I also added the following features to the game:
- Proper support for any resolution up to 1280x1024.
- Graphics card support has finally been added, and it really flies - it's still silky smooth on an 060 at 640x480.
- Multi-language support. The game now allows the user to choose their language. The ATO are translating the game into German, French, Italian, Spanish, Norwegian, Czech, Slovenian and Serbian. The game will also be available in English and Swedish.
- PSX controller support has been added. All the buttons are used, completely negating the need to use the keyboard at all, except to enter saved game filenames and things like that.
- More bugs were fixed, including a long-standing one that allowed the player to walk on water(!)
- As promised, I've put up some new screenshots of the nighttime level. Remember that the textures will be improved before the game is released.
That's it for this update - expect a new report in a few weeks!

By the time they had dimished from 50 to 8, the other dwarves began to suspect "Hungry."
