28 October 2000 | Thunderbolts And Lightning
I spent most of this month creating new levels, but I also found time to make the following improvements to the game:
- Night levels have been added. The streetlights and car headlamps illuminate the ground around them and you can even see your breath. I'll put up some new screenshots next month.
- Based on the response I had from last month's report, you'll be glad to hear that I've decided to add support for PSX controllers.
- Different looking pedestrians have been added.
- A few more bugs were fixed.
- People will now panic if you try to kill them.
- I finally got around to adding punching to the game. You can now go around twatting civilians to your heart's content. (Until the police come and arrest you, that is.)
- Stealth missions have been added, as well as some where the player gets to actually go inside the buildings.
- Several new vehicles have been added to the game, including boats.
- A new rain weather effect (complete with thunder and lightning) has been added to the game.
- Game speed has been improved by about 15% by optimising the object and bitmap drawing routines.
That's all there is to report this month - see you next time!
